Rommes scores four goals as NIC women win 13-0

COEUR d'ALENE — With a week to work on things, North Idaho College coach Kellsi Parson wanted to get freshman Hannah Rommes more time with the ball in her possession. 

On Saturday, that moved paid off big. 

Rommes, from Grants Pass, Ore., scored four goals — all in the first half — for the Cardinals in a 13-0 win over the Pacific Northwest Christian Gladiators of Kennewick, Wash., at Eisenwinter Field. 

"We wanted to put her more centrally with the ball," Parson said of Rommes. "She makes plays and we wanted to have it with her as much as she needed it today. She was just in the right place at the right time." 

Freshmen Madeline Cook and Molly McClennan had two goals each for NIC (5-4-2, 5-2-1 SWAC), which hosts Truckee Meadows (1-9, 1-7) of Reno, Nev., on Thursday. 

Pacific Northwest Christian is 0-8, 0-8.
