Cardinal women shoot past Colorado Northwestern

COEUR d'ALENE — Once North Idaho College figured out its offense, that four-minute spurt in the second half was just enough to get the job done on Eisenwinter Field.

Freshman Caroline Rigby scored in the 50th minute, the first of three goals in just under four minutes for the Cardinals in a 3-0 Scenic West Athletic Conference win over the Colorado Northwestern Spartans of Rangely on Saturday.

"I don't think we really showed up in the first half," NIC coach Kellsi Parson said. "CNCC is very athletic and we had to figure out how to play to their speed. We really didn't give ourselves a chance to score in the first half, but once we did in the second half, we continued to score."

Freshman Molly McClennan and sophomore McKenzie White added goals for NIC (4-3-2, 4-1-1 SWAC), which hosts Pacific Northwest Christian (0-6, 0-6) of Kennewick, Wash., next Saturday.

Colorado Northwestern is 5-5, 3-4.
