JEROME — Freshman Molly McClennan scored off a rebound of a corner kick by sophomore McKenzie White in the 18th minute for North Idaho College in a 1-0 win over the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles in a Scenic West Athletic Conference match at Founders Park on Saturday.
"McKenzie played a ball that bounced off Zoey's (Glenn) head and went to Molly's feet," NIC coach Kellsi Parson said. "We did a good job of putting it in the back of the net."
Sophomore Serena Hand had two saves for NIC (3-2-1, 3-0 SWAC), which hosts Utah-State Eastern (3-3, 1-2) on Thursday at Eisenwinter Field.
"Our defense played really well," Parson said. "She played a real solid 90 minutes. Our legs were a little tired, but those kids played amazing in the back today."
CSI, which received votes in this week's NJCAA poll, is 3-1, 2-1.
First half — 1, NIC, Molly McClennan (McKenzie White), 18:25. Second half — none.
