JEROME — The host Golden Eagles scored in the 61st minute to upset the No. 14 Cardinals in a Scenic West Athletic Conference match at Founders Park.
"Overall, the guys played really well and outplayed CSI by far," NIC coach Brad Williams said. "They kicked it away every single time they got it and we tried to play a possession-style and get shots away, which we did. But it was difficult to play against a constant longball."
Caique Maia scored for CSI (3-3, 3-0 SWAC), which travels to Salt Lake on Thursday.
NIC (6-2, 2-1) hosts Utah State-Eastern (2-1-2, 1-1-1) on Thursday.
First half — none. Second half — 1, CSI, Caique Maia (Diego Nogales), 61:07.
