Cardinals put down Big Bend
COEUR d'ALENE — Redshirt sophomore Gabe Lake (165) pounds and sophomore Ray Griffin (285) notched pins for the sixth-ranked (NJCAA) North Idaho College wrestling team in a 41-12 romp over Big Bend on sophomore night at Christianson Gymnasium on Friday.
NIC won three matches via forfeit.
Alexander Barajas, a sophomore from Bonners Ferry High, won by major decision for Big Bend of Moses Lake, Wash., which is tied for 10th in the NJCAA rankings.
NIC concludes the regular season at the Apodaca Duals tournament at Northwest College in Powell, Wyo., next Friday and Saturday.
