SOFTBALL: Cardinals sweep Spokane

The North Idaho College softball team hosted Spokane Community College on Tuesday, April 12 and got two wins. 

The first game, the Cards defeated the Bigfoot 13-5 in just five innings. Taya Escalante went four-for-four with two doubles and two RBIs. Kahlea Dumas went three-for-three with one walk, one triple, two home runs and five RBIs. Taryn Vanderwiel contributed by going three-for-three with one stolen base, one walk, and two RBIs. Abbey Brooks got the win in the circle.

In game two, the teams were tied going into the bottom of the fourth inning. Reiss McIntyre scored the go-ahead run, and then Taryn Vanderwiel hit a grandslam. Megan Dobrev's RBI double sealed the game for the Cards as they won game two 13-9. Hattie Imbler-Bremner got the win in the circle and Megan Dobrev got the save.

The Cardinals are back in action on Friday, April 15 as they host Big Bend Community College at 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
