2024 Men's Soccer Season Preview

North Idaho College men's soccer is looking forward to the return to NJCAA and SWAC conference play in 2024. The SWAC has some of the toughest teams in the country and NIC men's soccer has combined a few sophomore returners with a large freshman class who are expected to be immediately competitive. Returning for their sophomore season are goalkeeper Kael McGowan, midfielders Daniel Lehman and Drew Hansen, and defender Zak Wenglikowski. The incoming class of freshmen includes many very strong players coming from five different states and 10 different countries. A few of the notable players added to the squad are two Trinidad and Tobago U-20 internationals: goalkeeper Tristan Edwards and defender Akil Henry. Midfielder Lorian Aerts has represented Belgium at the U-18 national team level, and defender Adem Arous brings experience playing with the U-17 Algerian national side. Goalkeeper Indra Suarjana has also been called up by his country,, Tahiti, at the full national team level.

Second year head coach, Brad Williams, is looking forward to the 2024-25 season, "We are extremely excited for this year's team as we have a lot of talented players who will be able to immediately contribute to the team. We have players from many different cultures and backgrounds which I believe will be a strength as the team gels and really gets to know each other."

SWAC play will begin on Saturday, September 7 against Pacific Northwest Christian College, and will conclude on NIC's home venue, Eisenwinter Field, against last year's champions, Salt Lake City on October 26.
