MEN'S SOCCER: First loss of the season for Cards

The North Idaho College Cardinals experienced their first loss of the 2021 season with a 0-1 loss in Wenatchee on Wednesday, September 22. The Knight's Gino Miranda scored an unassisted goal in the 41st minute after intercepting a pass near the center circle.

Overall, it was a pretty even match with the Cardinals having a slight edge in shots on goal (8-7), and on overall shots (13-10). Stuart Heringer had six saves for the Cardinals and Wenatchee’s Ty Miller made eight saves for the Knights. The Cardinals pressed well late, getting into the Knights penalty area almost at will but failed to convert on their opportunities and failed to create enough quality opportunities to level the match.

The Cards are now 3-1 in league play and 7-1 overall. They travel to Columbia Basin, who is leading the NWAC East Region, on Saturday, September 25.
