MEN'S SOCCER: Barragan hat trick beats Cards


The Cardinals fell to Columbia Basin on Saturday, September 25. The Hawks’ Alan Barragan put three away against the Cardinals to give the Hawks 4-2 win in Pasco. The Hawks were up 1-0 in the 16th minute, but the Cardinals’ Braden Bennett equalized in the 22nd minute. At the 30-minute mark, Zinedine Moreno put the Hawks up 2-1 on a rifle of a shot from deep. Minutes before the half though, Bennett drew a penalty kick, and Evan Yost converted the shot to tie the game. It was 2-2 at the half. 

Barragan struck again in the 63rd and 66th minutes to seal the win. Stuart Heringer recorded four saves on the match for the Cardinals while Daniel Puga recorded six for the Hawks. Both programs put eight shots on goal. 

The Cardinals are at home on Wednesday, September 29 against Spokane at 4:15 p.m.
