MEN'S BASKETBALL: Team effort leads Cardinals past Warriors


North Idaho College saw five players score ten points or more, three of which recorded double-doubles in a 115-87 victory over Walla Walla Community College Saturday, Feb. 8 on Rolly Williams Court.

Sophomore Christian Guess exploded for 21 of his game high 35 points in the first 20 minutes resulting in a 61-49 halftime lead. The offensive outburst would continue into the second half as the Cardinals outscored the Warriors 54-38. Guess, who hit 14 of 18 shots, also grabbed 10 rebounds. Sophomore Emmitt Taylor III and Jaden Dewar came off the bench to score 19 and 15 points respectively. Taylor would add 11 rebounds and Dewar 10 as the Cardinals controlled the glass 55-36. Sophomore Nate Pryor and Phillip Malatare each tossed in 12 points as NIC improved to 23-1 overall and 11-0 in the Northwest Athletic Conference East Region.
