WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Lady Cards get big road win over Vikings


The Cardinals defeated Big Bend Community College on Wednesday, Feb. 6, outscoring the Vikings 64-41. The defensive pressure that the Cards inflicted cost the Vikings 26 turnovers, compared to NIC's seven. Although Big Bend heavily outrebounded the Cardinals 34-16, the Cards converted a higher percentage of shots--44% for the night (41% behind the arc), while Big Bend shot 28% (17% behind the arc).

Halle Eborall led the Lady Cardinals with 17 points, while Sydnie Peterson put up 13, and Alex Carlton and Anna Schrade chipped in nine each. Demi Randall had five steals to spark NIC's defense, while Eborall, Peterson, and Schrade each had three steals apiece.

The Lady Cards take on the NWAC's #2 ranked Walla Walla Warriors on Saturday, Feb. 8. The game begins at 2:00 p.m. in Christianson Gymnasium.
