WRESTLING: NJCAA wrestling rankings released


The first National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) wrestling rankings of the season were released on Tuesday, Nov. 5. NIC finds themselves starting the season ranked 11th in the country. Hunter Gregerson, a returning all-American out of Spokane, Washington is ranked first in the country at 197 pounds. Jacob Swift was also ranked for the Cardinals coming in third at 157 pounds.

The Cards travel to Powell, Wyoming this Saturday, Nov. 9 for the Trapper Open. At the Trapper Open, the team expects to find plenty of matchups with Western Wyoming Community College who is currently ranked number one in the nation. Returning National Champions Clackamas Community College, ranked third in the country, will visit Christianson Gymnasium on Friday, Nov. 22 for NIC’s next home event.
