MEN'S BASKETBALL: Victory over Walla Walla


North Idaho College powered their way to a 104-73 victory over Walla Walla Community College Sunday night at Everett Community College.

The Warriors, behind early 3-point shooting success, lead 33-31 with just over 6 minutes remaining in the first half,  but the Cardinals (31-2), the top scoring team in the NWAC (114 points per game), turned on the jets with a 18-5 run, led by the 22 first-half points of sophomore RayQuan Evans to lead at the half, 49-38. In the final 20 minutes, it was the Alphonso Anderson show. The sophomore wing poured in 22 points, including several dunks and the Cardinals defense held Walla Walla to just 29% shooting.

Both Evans and Anderson finished with 32 points. Evans, the Tournament MVP for the 2nd consecutive year, also handed out 6 assists and had 2 steals.  Anderson, voted to the All-Tournament 1st team, added 10 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals. Freshman Nate Pryor, also named to the 1st-team and sophomore Jarod Greene each tossed in 15 points. Greene added 9 rebounds as NIC out rebounded the Warriors (22-11) 45-31.
