SOFTBALL: Cardinals smash Hawks


North Idaho College played a double header against the Columbia Basin College Hawks in Pasco, Wash. The Cardinals won both games in smashing fashion.

In game one, the Cardinals earned the 17-4 victory over the Hawks of Columbia Basin College. Madi Mott picked up the win in the circle for the Cardinals with 10 strike-outs. Mott also contributed on offense with 2 singles, 2 home runs and 4 RBI’s. Sarah Williams went 4-5 with 4 doubles and 3 RBI’s. The Cardinals offense finished strong in the 7th by scoring 9 runs to close the game out.

In game two, the Cardinals continued their offensive attack with a 25-10 win. Ashlyn Winn went 3-6 with two singles and a home run. Jori Kerr went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks. Mott went 2-4 with 2 home runs in the 4thinning. Bailey Cavanagh went 3-5 with a single, double and a home run. Hannah Click went 3-4 with 3 singles. Taylor Anderson went 4-4 with 2 singles, 1 double and a home run. Andrea Hoey earned the win with 5 strike-outs.

The Cardinals will be back in action Wednesday, May 1st at 2pm vs. CC of Spokane at Post Falls High School.
