SOFTBALL: NIC splits with WVC


In game one, the Cardinals came out strong and produced a 21-2 victory over the Knights of Wenatchee Valley College. Bailey Cavanagh went 3-5 with a single, a triple and a home run. Emma Profili went 3-4 with a single and two doubles. Taylor Anderson went 2-3 with two singles and a base on balls. The Cardinals earned 11 base on balls on the game. Andrea Hoey earned the win in the circle.

In game two, NIC fell short when the Knights won 4-3 with walk-off home run in the bottom of the 7thinning. Madi Mott had a solo home run in 1stand the 5th inning for the Cardinals. In the 3rd inning, Ashlyn Winn walked, Jori Kerr singled to move Winn into scoring position and Bailey Cavanagh scored Winn on a fielder’s choice ground ball. The Cardinals had two defensive errors in the late innings that kept innings alive for the Knights to capitalize upon with timely hits.

The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, April 27that Columbia Basin College at noon for a double-header.
