SOFTBALL: Cardinals split with Chukars


The Cardinal bats came out hot in game one as they earned the victory 17-7. On the first pitch of the game, sophomore Ashlyn Winn hit a solo home run to start the game. Winn went 3-4 with 2 home runs, 1 double and 3 RBI’s. Jori Kerr went 4-4 with 3 singles and a double. Madi Mott went 3-3 with 2 home runs, 1 double and a base on balls. Sarah Williams had 2 home runs with 4 RBI’s. Mott earned the win in the circle.

In game two, freshman, Grace Ferres had 6 strike outs and held the Chukar offense to three runs with no extra base hits. The Cardinals' defense faltered in the 6thinning with a crucial error that allowed the Chukars to take the lead 3-2.  The Cardinals were unable to answer back in the top 7thinning.  

The Cardinals will be back in action on Saturday, March 30that Blue Mountain Community College at noon.
