SOFTBALL: Hot bats lead to sweep of Blue Mountain


After a one game hiatus, the Cardinals' bats returned in game one vs. BMCC in a big way! NIC won 25-3 in 5 innings. Freshman, Grace Ferres, earned the win in the circle with 5 strike outs in 3 innings. Andrea Hoey and Betty Comack both threw one inning to close the game out. Jori Kerr went 5-5 with 3 singles and 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s. Madi Mott had a solo home run and 3 RBI’s. Brianna Hecker went 3-4 with 2 singles and a home run with 2 RBI’s. Bailey Cavanagh went 3-4 with 2 singles, a grand slam, 1 base on balls, with 6 RBI’s.

In game two, the Cardinals continued to keep have hot bats pushing 14 runs across the dish. Game two's 14-0 victory earned the sweep. Madi Mott had 7 strike outs in 4 innings to shut down BMCC. McKenzie Wilson came in strong to close the game in the 5thinning with 3 strike outs. JJ Hammond went 2-3 with 1 singles, 1 double, and sac fly and 3 RBI’s on the day.

The Cardinals are back on the road Tuesday, April 2nd vs. CC of Spokane at 2pm. The game will be played at Spokane Falls CC.
