WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Simpson & Carlton lead Lady Cardinals over Yakima


The North Idaho College Lady Cardinals beat Yakima Valley College, 81-69, at home on Saturday, January 26 to finish the first half of NWAC Eastern Region play with a 6-2 record and tied for second place.  The freshman duo of post player, Keara Simpson, and point guard, Alex Carlton, proved too much for Yakima to handle.  Simpson finished with 22 points, 17 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.  Carlton scored 23 points including 5-9 from the three point line. 

The Lady Cardinals, 16-4 overall, open up the second half of league traveling to Treasure Valley Community College on Saturday, February 2.  Tip-off is at 1:00 PM Pacific Time and is followed by the men’s game.  Both games can be viewed at
