MEN’S BASKETBALL: Cards open tourney with big win


Freshman Nate Prior led 5 players in double figures with 19 points as North Idaho College blasted Shoreline 111-83 at the Best Western Coeur d’Alene INN-vitational Thursday night at Rolly Williams Court.

Ray Quan Evans was 2 assists short of a triple double. The Sophomore poured in 18 points, grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and handed out 8 assists to go along with 3 steals. Other Cardinals in double figures include Emmitt Taylor III with 18 points, Alphonso Anderson with 16 points on 5 of 6 shooting while grabbing 7 rebounds. Sophomore Jared Greene rounded out the double-figure scorers with 13 points.

The Cardinals will take on Grays Harbor tonight at 7:30. The Chokers topped Medicine Hat 87-69 in the Tournament’s opener Thursday night.
