VOLLEYBALL: Cardinals lose in 5

09/22/2018

Your Volleyball Cardinals hosted Blue Mountain CC on Friday night at NIC. The Cardinals jumped off to a great start with Hailee Etter going back to the service line and serving 8 in a row. NIC finish the first set off beating Blue Mountain 25-19. In the second set, BMCC and Cardinals kept going back and forth until the last point and the Cardinals fell behind and lost 21-25. NIC jumped back on top in the third set, taking the win 25-19. In the fourth set the Cardinals struggled to get momentum and lost 15-25. The Cardinals and Timberwolves both found the fifth set to be a struggle going back and forth until the last point. A late touch at the end, ended the game for the Cardinals and gave them their first loss in the conference, 13-15. Hailee Etter ended the night with team kill leader with 18, followed by Kayla Neumann with 17.

"It was a hard loss tonight. I’ll give it to both teams for how hard they battled. Blue Mountain is a good team and they will only get better. All I can ask for the girls is that we learn from this loss and move forward. We will get another shot at them, and I expect it to be another good game,” commented Head Coach Kelsey Stanley.
