MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cards win Border Battle thriller

RayQuan Evans hit 2 free throws with 7.2 seconds remaining leading 5th ranked North Idaho College to a 85-83 victory over the CC of Spokane Saturday night at Rolly Williams Court. The freshman finished with a game-high 26 points, including 9-for-9 from the charity stripe to go along with 7 rebounds. Sophomore Jalen Burkett tallied 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting while Seth Christiaens came off the Cardinal bench for his best all-around game of the season. The sophomore scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting to go along with a game-high 13 rebounds, 9 on the offensive end. Christiaens was also a force on defense blocking 4 shots.

 

“That was some kind of game,” said Head Coach Corey Symons. “Both teams really battled all night long. That was a big win for us.”

 

NIC (14-5, 4-2) is currently locked in a four-way tie for 2nd place in the Eastern Region of the NWAC with Spokane, Yakima Valley and Wenatchee Valley.
