WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Lady Cardinals Open NWAC With Win


The North Idaho College women’s basketball team was the only Eastern Division team to start NWAC play with a road victory.  The Lady Cardinals traveled to Yakima Valley Community College and defeated the Lady Yaks 84-63 on Saturday, January 6th.  Lake City High School graduates Cierra Dvorak and Whitney Meier led the way with 20 and 19 points respectively.  Sophomore Ronnie Harris added 13 points and freshman Sydney Hovde scored 10 points.  The Lady Cardinals shot 81% (17-21) from the free throw line while Yakima shot only 42% (11-26). 

The Lady Cardinals are now 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the NWAC Eastern Division.  They will host Columbia Basin College on Wednesday, January 10th.  Tip-off is at 6:00 PM and is followed by the men’s game.  All North Idaho College basketball games can be watched at  Follow @NICWBBALL on Twitter and Like us on Facebook for continuous coverage of the North Idaho College women’s basketball team.
