MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals fall in first round of NWAC Tournament
The top-ranked Cardinals lost their opening round game 86-81 to 4th seeded Tacoma Thursday morning at Everett Community College. NIC raced out to an 11-point advantage before the Titans battled back to take a 47-42 halftime lead. The Cardinal effort was led by Sophomore Zaequan Satterthwaite who was unstoppable, pouring in 16 points on 8 of 9 shooting. The second half was a back and forth affair with NIC holding on to a 8 point lead until Tacoma took control with 2 minutes remaining in the game. Satterthwaite tied for game-high scoring honors with Tacoma’s Khalil Thompson 28 points. Ziggy also grabbed 8 rebounds. Sophomore Sam Dowd, also playing in his final game as a Cardinal, finished with 17 points and 9 assists.

The Cardinals finish the season 25-5 overall, 13-3 in the NWAC.
