Dan Hogan enters his 14th season and ninth year as head women’s soccer coach. In the 2008 season, his Cardinal team made its first trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament where the team earned third place. In addition, during Hogan’s tenure, his teams have posted an overall record of 129-50-27 with two league championships, two conference tournament titles, one district championship, and a third-place national tournament finish. In addition, five of Hogan’s players have earned All-American honors over the past five years. In 2005, Hogan was honored as Scenic West Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and was also named Coach of the Year at the prestigious Idaho Sports Banquet.

Hogan has more than 20 years of soccer coaching experience and holds a National “B” License and an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma. Hogan graduated from North Idaho College in 1981 and earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Washington State University. Hogan resides in Coeur d’Alene with his wife Jo Marie and daughter Rachael.

Dean Thompson returns to the pitch for North Idaho College for his 12th season training the Cardinal goalkeepers. Thompson currently holds a National “C” license and has developed a reputation for building his goalkeepers into award-winning players. He has trained two All-American keepers and goalies who have gone on to play at Gonzaga University, Concordia University, Mesa State University, Saint Edwards University, and Humboldt State University.

Thompson played college soccer at The Masters College in Santa Clarita, Calif. He resides in Coeur d’Alene with his wife Regina and their son, Zander, and daughters Lyzz and Christine.

Becky Thompson returns to North Idaho College for her fifth season as an assistant coach after a year away from NIC. She was a captain of the 2003 Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) tournament champions and graduated from NIC in the spring of 2004. Thompson finished her undergraduate degree at Eastern Washington University in criminal justice during the spring of 2006.

Thompson played high school soccer at Post Falls High School where she was a four-year starter. She was named to the All-League team and was named Most Valuable Player for three consecutive years. Thompson also works with at-risk youth for Kootenai County and coaches for the Coeur d’Alene Sting soccer club.
